Drew Brown, Production Manager for Jason Aldean Delivers a Powerful Message after living through the Las Vegas Shooting, Sparks Real Discussion of Solutions
“Hope is not a plan.” That was the theme of the conversation around security and risk mitigation led by Drew Brown, who is Jason Aldean's Production Manager and was present at the Route 91 Festival Attack in Las Vegas. Our industry needs to put “the right operators, and the right tools, in the right hands,” he emphasized. And the USMA would add the Motorsports Industry is no different.
The USMA attended the Event Safety Summit held by the Event Safety Alliance with a purpose of seeing how Motorsports and Music might work together to keep our fans, participants and competitors safer. While big issues such as mass shootings are on the forefront of our minds, it's the smallest overlooked areas that can produce a higher number of injuries.
The unique event was held inside Rock Lititz, a 96-acre state-of-the-art facility and campus used for production and rehearsal for touring professionals. Located in a the little town of Lititz, PA the facility has been used by some of music's biggest names. But it was the unknown people who filled the room at the Safety Summit to learn from each other and practice their behind the scenes performances of safety. The USMA plans to work closer with the event in the future to further align the Motorsports and Entertainment Industries towards safety solutions.
