(Bucks County, PA.) April 17, 2018 – Mike Hepp Racing has a lot to race for this year. The Pennsylvania based team and the United States Motorsports Association (USMA) announced today a newly formed promotional partnership to promote the SAVE GRASSROOTS RACING™ Campaign. In addition, the team will continue their longtime work to battle drug and alcohol addictions through their Racing for Recovery program. The sportsman drag racing team has several events scheduled with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and some National NHRA events.
"There are two passions for our team, grassroots racing, and getting people the treatment, they need for drug and alcohol addiction," said Mike Hepp, Driver and Co-Owner of MHR. "We are excited and proud to promote these two community causes throughout the racing season."
Grassroots racing makes up the largest sector of motorsports contributing to billions of dollars in economic impacts, millions of jobs, feeding thousands of small businesses and providing tremendous local community benefits. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events bring in hundreds of race teams from all over the country providing local economic impacts often to rural communities.
Many elected officials have not been informed of the benefits local racing is providing. To outsiders, racing still has negative perceptions such as being loud, dirty, and economically poor.
The SAVE GRASSROOTS RACING™ campaign aims to change those perceptions, while promoting economic benefits and inspiring the next generation of grassroots racers.
"Mike Hepp and his entire team have been tremendous supporters of the work of the USMA. They represented Grassroots racing for us recently at the Pennsylvania State Capitol and like us they want to do all they can to see racing continue," expressed Shawn Stewart, Executive Director of the USMA. "We are grateful to have the USMA and the SAVE GRASSROOTS RACING Campaign ride along with the team this year."
