NEW MOTORSPORTS TRADE SCHOOL AIMS TO BUILD RACING’S NEXT WORKFORCE

A new motorsports-focused trade school is coming to Palm Desert, California.

TruSpeed Racing Institute (TSRI) is developing a 36-week, hands-on program designed to prepare entry-level mechanics for careers with professional race teams. Training will cover everything from brakes, suspension and chassis setup to electronics, engines, gearboxes, welding and composites.

Students will also have opportunities to gain real-world race experience, while TSRI works with professional teams to create a direct pathway from training to employment. The school says more than a dozen teams already endorse the program.

With motorsports continuing to face a shortage of skilled technicians, programs like this could play an important role in building the industry's next generation of talent.

TSRI expects to open applications for its first class in Fall 2026.
